• 1 . 0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report presents the methods and findings of Aqua Science Engineers, <br /> Inc (ASE)'s area well sampling for domestic and irrigation wells in the <br /> vicinity of Frank's One Stop located at 2072 West Yosemite Avenue in <br /> Manteca, California (Figures 1 and 2) <br /> 2 . 0 SAMPLING METHODOLOGY <br /> ASE collected the groundwater samples using the following procedures <br /> Prior to sampling, any holding tank on the well was drained until the well <br /> pump turned on to recharge the tank with water directly from the <br /> well/aquifer Water samples were collected as close to the pump as <br /> possible (at any sampling port prior to a holding tank if available) <br /> Groundwater samples were contained in 40-m1 glass volatile organic <br /> analysis (VOA) vials, pre-preserved with hydrochloric acid, and sealed <br /> without headspace All samples were labeled with the site location, <br /> sample designation, date and time the samples were collected, and t h e <br /> initials of the person collecting the samples The samples were then <br /> • placed into an ice chest with wet ice for transport to the analytical <br /> laboratory under chain of custody <br /> All groundwater samples were analyzed by Kiff Analyical, LLC of Davis, <br /> California (FLAP #2236) for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline <br /> (TPH-G), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (collectively <br /> know as BTEX), fuel oxygenates, alcohols, lead scavengers, and 1 ,2- <br /> dichloropropane (1,2-DCP) by EPA Method 8260 and total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-D) by EPA Method 8015 The analytical <br /> results are tabulated in Table One Please note that the well at t h e <br /> condemned property located at 238 Airport Way was not sampled due to <br /> safety related issues Several people are currently living illegally on that <br /> property, and a homicide was committed on that property less than a <br /> month following the sampling <br /> 3 . 0 CONCLUSIONS <br /> A total of 32 wells were sampled in the vicinity of the site Of these wells, <br /> 31 were domestic wells and one was an irrigation well <br /> Three had MTBE concentrations over the Department of Health Services <br /> (DHS) Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for drinking water <br /> Frank's One Stop Area Well Sampling Report — June 2001 <br /> - 1 - <br />
