using dedicated bailers The groundwater samples were decanted from the <br /> bailers into 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials, preserved with <br /> hydrochloric acid and sealed without headspace All of the samples were <br /> labeled and stored on ice for transport to Kiff Analytical, LLC of Davis, <br /> California (ELAP #2236) under appropriate chain-of-custody <br /> documentation Well sampling field logs are included in Appendix A <br /> Well sampling purge water was stored in 55-gallon steel drums, labeled <br /> and left on-site for temporary storage until proper off-site disposal can be <br /> arranged <br /> 4 . 0 GROUNDWATER SAMPLE ANALYSIS <br /> The groundwater samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> as gasoline (TPH-G), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes <br /> (collectively known as BTEX), the fuel oxygenates, and halogenated volatile <br /> organic compounds (HVOCs) by EPA Method 8260B, and total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-D) by EPA Method 8015 with silica gel <br /> cleanup The analytical results for this and previous sampling periods are <br /> presented in Table Two The certified analytical report and chain-of- <br /> custody documentation are included in Appendix B <br /> • 5.0 CONCLUSIONS <br /> lsoconcentration contour maps for TPH-G and MTBE in the shallow water- <br /> bearing zone are presented as Figures 5 and 6, respectively <br /> Hydrocarbon concentrations this quarter are generally similar to those <br /> reported during the previous sampling event Notable changes include the <br /> first reported appearances of PCE in MW-6, TBA in MW-11, and MTBE in <br /> MW-17 TPH-D concentrations decreased significantly in monitoring wells <br /> MW-8, MW-9, MW-19, and recovery well RW-1 TPH-G concentrations <br /> also significantly decreased in MW-19 and RW-1 The TPH-G concentration <br /> increased in monitoring well MW-5 and the TPH-D concentration increased <br /> in MW-12 Additionally, ethanol was detected in monitoring well MW- 17 <br /> and recovery wells RW-1 through RW-3 <br /> • <br /> Frank's One Stop Quarterly Report — March 2004 Sampling <br /> -3- <br />
