r
i
free-floating
Since the discovery of the f g hydrocarbons in monitoring well
MW-5, ASE has measured the thickness of the free-floating hydrocarbons
rin monitoring wells MW-5 and MW-6 and then removed all accumulated
free-floating hydrocarbons in the well with a bailer every two weeks prior
to January 2000 and monthly after January 2000 Free-floating
rhydrocarbon thickness records are tabulated in Table Four
12. 10 Derembcr 1999 Area )Yell SuLy-ety
In December 1999, ASE conducted a more detailed area well survey for
i the site than the one previously conducted This survey identified 57
wells within a 2,000-foot radius of the site Of these 57 wells, 39 are
domestic, 3 are irrigation only, and 15 are of unknown usage The closest
rproperties to the site with wells are directly to the east, directly to the
southeast and across Airport Way to the west (at least 120-feet from the
r site) These wells are located in upgradient or crossgradient directions
from the site (based on groundwater flow in the shallow zone) The
closest wells potentially downgradient of the site are approximately 120-
feet northwest the site One of these wells is a domestic well The closest
well directly downgradient of the site's USTs is an irrigation well located
approximately 240-feet north of the site The closest domestic well
idirectly downgradient of the site's USTs is located approximately 300-feet
north of the site
r 3 . 0 SCOPE OF WORK (SOW)
i Based on the site history and discussions regarding the site with Mr
Ronald Rowe and Ms Margaret Lagorio of the San Joaquin County PHS-
EHD, ASE has developed the following scope of work
i 1 Prepare a workplan for review and approval from the San Joaquin
P P PP
' County PHS-EHD
2 ) Obtain the necessary drilling permit from San Joaquin County PHS-
EHD and an encroachment permit from the City of Manteca to drill
in West Yosemite Avenue
3 ) Drill two (2) soil borings at the site to approximately 70-feet bgs
using a hollow-stem auger drill rig for the installation of monitoring
wells to be screened approximately 55 to 70-feet bgs One of these
monitoring wells to be drilled near monitoring well MW-5 to
Franks One Stop Report — May 2000
-5-
