Copies of the permits are presented in Appendix A <br /> Description of Tank Removals <br /> Remedy Construction, Inc removed the concrete surface and soil above the two 10,000 gallon <br /> diesel tanks (east end of the UST tank pit area) in preparation for the tank removals The two <br /> diesel tanks were removed on June 5, 1998 <br /> Prior to removal, the two tanks were inerted using dry ice An LEL meter was used to check the <br /> lower explosive limit (LEL) inside he tank When the LEL was shown to be at a safe level, the <br /> tank was removed for inspection <br /> The soil around the fill end of he tanks had a diesel odor The two 10,000 gallon steel tanks <br /> appeared to be in good shape There were no holes on the underside of either tank <br /> RemedyConstruction,uction, Inc removed the concrete surface and soil above the remaining four 10,000 <br /> gallon gasoline tanks (west end of the UST tank pit area) in preparation for the gasoline tank <br /> removals The four gasoline tanks were removed on June 10, 1998 <br /> Prior to removal, each tank was inerted using dry ice An LEL meter was used to check the lower <br /> explosive limit (LEL) inside the tank When the LEL was shown to be at a safe level, the tank <br /> was removed for inspection <br /> The soil around the fill end of the tanks hada gasoline <br /> o The four <br /> appeared to be in good shape There were no holes onthe runders de of 10,000 <br /> 00o g heotanks <br /> steel tanks <br /> Tank Disposal <br /> All six 10,000 gallon UST's were hauled to Erickson, Inc , Richmond, California by Allwas <br /> Appendix B te <br /> Transportation and Remediation, Inc.
