46 <br /> . 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> 1.1 Site Location And Description <br /> The subject property is Iocated at 2072 W Yosemite Avenue in Manteca, California at the <br /> intersection with Airport Way The site is on the southeast corner of the intersection It is in a <br /> commercial and residential area The site currently has several uses including a filling station and <br /> convenience store, automobile repair, U-Haul truck rental and propane sales There are six <br /> underground gasoline tanks currently in use Each is made of steel and has a 10,000 gallon <br /> capacity <br /> Prior to the current site configuration the site was operated as a filling station and auto repair <br /> facility The gasoline storage tanks are believed to have been located to the west of the current <br /> dispenser islands It was also reported by the previous owner that these tanks were removed <br /> 1.2 Background <br /> A PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION AND EVALUATION REPORT was prepared by <br /> Geological Audit Services (GeoAudit), Inc of Stockton, California in February 1995 The work <br /> was performed for Mr John Urrutia of the Bank of Stockton A copy of that report was recently <br /> obtained from the bank by the current site owner and is attached as Appendix B <br /> • The GeoAudit report stated that in September 1994 three 1,000 gallon motor oil tanks and one <br /> waste oil tank had been removed form the site They reported that there had been no significant <br /> contaminants found at the time of the tank removals <br /> GeoAudit drilled 10 mechanical borings and three hand augered borings on the site They <br /> collected and analyzed 21 soil samples and nine groundwater samples Their sample results have <br /> been included with this report as Tables 3 and 4 <br /> NOTE: Both investigations used the same numbering system for soil borings (B-1, B-2, <br /> etc.). To minimize confusion, a "G" has been added to any references to the soil borings <br /> from the GeoAudit work (i.e. GB1, GB2, etc.) in this report. <br /> 2.0 SITE INVESTIGATION <br /> 2.1 Soil Borings and Sampling <br /> Ten (10) soil borings were advanced on the site Boring locations are shown on Figure 2 Borings <br /> were placed around the fuel tanks and dispenser islands The bonngs were advanced using Geo- <br /> Probe equipment The final depth of bonngs was approximately 16 feet Boring B-4, west of the <br /> dispenser island closest to the building, was terminated at a depth of 7 feet due to an underground <br />• concrete obstruction It is believed to be associated with the previous structures on the site No <br /> Inrhal Site Characterization Report April 1997 <br /> 2072 W Yosemite Ave,Manteca, C4 1 015 001AT <br />
