Temporary fencing will be installed at the edge of the
construction area and the adjacent wetland, marsh,or ditch.
b. Working areas, spoils, and equipment storage and other
project activities will be restricted to areas outside of
marshes,wetlands,and ditches.
c. Water quality will be maintained and construction runoff
into wetland areas will be limited through the use of hay
bales,filter fences,vegetative buffer strips,or other
accepted equivalents.
► If on-site wetlands,irrigation ditches,marshes,etc.,are being
relocated in the vicinity, the newly created aquatic habitat will be
created and filled with water before dewatering occurs and the
w existing aquatic habitat is destroyed.In addition,nonpredatory
fish species that exist in the aquatic habitat and that are to be
relocated will be seined and transported to the new aquatic
habitat as the old site is dewatered.
v ► If wetlands,irrigation ditches,marshes,etc.,will not be relocated
in the vicinity, then the aquatic habitat will be dewatered at least
2 weeks before construction begins.
p ► Preconstruction surveys for the giant garter snake(conducted
n
T after completion of environmental reviews and before ground
v
Q disturbance)will occur within 24 hours of ground disturbance.
o Other provisions of the USFWS Standard Avoidance and
CD Minimization Measures during Construction Activities in Giant
oGarter Snake Habitat will be implemented(excluding programmatic
C mitigation ratios which are superseded by the SJMSCP's mitigation
ratios).
4.5-5:Impacts on Northwestern Pond Turtle.Implementation LTS No mitigation is necessary. LTS
m of the proposed project is unlikely to result in loss or disturbance
R, of nesting northwestern pond turtle because suitable nesting
v habitat for this species is not present within the project area. This
M impact would be less than significant.
v
LTS=Less than Significant S=Significant PS=Potentially Significant SU=Significant and Unavoidable
