05 January 1998 h <br /> AGE-NC.Project No. 96-0266 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> Prior -to removal of the gasoline USTs, the tanks wore triple rinsed by AGE, using a pressure <br /> washer. Approximately 450 gallons of-rinseate were;transported under manifest to Americlean <br /> Inca of Silver Springs, Nevada (State Manifest D64ument No. .96414882) by Norcal Oil- of <br /> Turlock, California. <br /> Inspector Kent Miller of the City of Stockton Fire Dopartment_was on hand to oversee the tank <br /> removal activities: <br /> After being removed; ,the tanks were visually inspected with holes noted at thebase of the <br /> western end -of the UST..The tanks were subsequently transported to West Coast Equipment <br /> Company of Turlock for-disposal. <br /> SOIL SAMPLING <br /> Following removal of the tank, a backhoe'was used to icollect a soil sample-from 2 feet below the <br /> ends of the former UST (Figure 2). Soil samples,w re collected from the soil stockpile to be <br /> composited. Each-soil sample was collected with m" tris soil sampling hammer, loaded with a <br /> pre-cleaned brass sleeve. The ends of the brass sleeve were sealed with a Teflon plastic and end <br /> caps were tapped over the ends of each sample sleeve. <br /> Samples were collected by Nuel Henderson R.G. # 587. The samples were labeled and placed in <br /> a chilled container. The samples were transported] under chain-of-custody to .McCampbell <br /> Analytical Inc. (MAI) of Pacheco, California, a state-0ertified analytical laboratory. The date and <br /> time soil samples were taken were noted on the chain-�f-custody form included with the attached <br /> laboratory report and quality control data. <br /> The samples associated with'the UST and the soil spoils pile were analyzed for total petroleum.- . <br /> hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline - (TPH-g), purgeable aromatics (benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene and total xylenes: BTE&X), and .mothyl-tert-butyl ether (MTBE) and other <br /> oxygenated fuel additives tertiary butyl alcohol(TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary <br /> butyl ether (ETBE) and tertiary amyl methyl cther .( AME) in accordance with EPA methods <br /> 8015-modified for gasoline and 8020 for BTE&X andlMTBE.
