22 May 2018 AdvancedGeo
AGE Project No. 18-4357 Environmental
abatement of the remaining contamination. This work plan was prepared as required by
the SJCEHD letter to investigate and subsequently abate the remaining soil
contamination at the site.
3.0. CLEAN UP GOALS
The proposed cleanup goals have been selected to protect human health and the
environment. Site usage has recently changed from industrial to commercial. There are
no plans for the site to ever be used for residential purposes. Clean up goals were
selected utilizing currently established environmental screening levels.
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as oil range compound- -oil) will be
evaluated using the established San Francisco Ra,, ronmental
Screening Level of 140,000 milligrams p^. mmercial
properties. There is no hazardous waste c O ished for
TPH-oil. lao
• Metals and additional analytes will be evalu a 'JSEPA
Region 9 Regional Screening Levels (RSLs) t 3Ls for
metals are listed in Table 1. The commercial F .y rng, this
value will represent the cleanup goal for total le, nazardous waste
criteria for total lead is 1,000 mg/kg, and the ha _.,uus waste criteria for soluble
(STLC) lead is 5 milligrams per liter(mg/I). Therefore, the clean-up goal for soluble
lead will be established at 5 mg/I. Therefore, any soil with a value over the cleanup
goal for STLC lead will require removal and disposal at a Class I landfill.
oj 4
ted from samples S-1 through S-4, only soil in the south-central
S-aly 1 1 SSS j ition of S-1 needs to be excavated and removed. And the lateral
acted soil in the location of S-1 and surrounding S-1 needs to
J. Soil samples collected from S-1 through S-3 did not exceed
environmental screening levels or clean-up goals. The proposed scope of work is as
follows:
• Pre-field work activities.
• Soil trenching/potholing and soil sample collection.
• Soil excavation and confirmation soil sample collection.
• Sample analysis.
• Soil disposal of any soil above the cleanup goals, which may be required.
