Quarterly Report - Second Quarter 2003
FIVE STAR MARINA
345 Yosemite Street, Stockton, California
' 1.0 INTRODUCTION
' At the request of Mr Terry McDonald of the Five Star Marina,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc
(AGE)has prepared the enclosed quarterlyreport for 345 Yosemite Street,Stockton,California The
- scope of work included monitoring and sampling six ground water monrtormg wells and preparation
' of this report The site and its surroundings are illustrated on Figure 1 Structures, probe bonng, soil
sample and monitoring well locations are shown on Figure 2
' Site History and findings from previous site investigations are summarized in Appendix A The
results of previous ground water monitoring events are included in the tables of this report
' 24. PROCEDURES
The investigation was conducted in accordance with the Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board(CVRWQCB)and the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)
guidelines for the subsurface investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites and sampling
' of ground water monitoring wells
' 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND PURGING
' On 21 May 2003, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in
monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-5 and shallow well MW-UST relative to the tops of the well
casings
' After ground water depth measurements were collected, wells MW-1 through MW-5 were purged
using dedicated, disposable plastic bailers, and well MW-UST was purged with a Waterra check-
bailer Between five and five and three-quarter gallons of water (a minimum of three casing
volumes)were evacuated from wells MW-1 through MW-5 and approximately two gallons of water
were evacuated from MW-UST Ground water temperature,pH and conductivity(field parameters
of ground water)were measured at 0 5-to 1-gallon intervals during purging using an Oakton water
analyzer Field data and logs are included in Appendix B
' 2 2 GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
' Water samples were collected from the monitoring wells using the dedicated plastic bailers or the
dedicated Waterra check-bailer,after allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the
pre-purge water volume Immediately upon retrieval, samples were transferred into chilled 40-m1
1
