' 12 August 2002 AGE-NC Project No 97-0351 Page 3 of 4 ' 3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES ' The results of laboratory analysts of ground water samples collected at the site on 07 June 2002 aI e as follows ' • TPH-g was detected in the samples from ground water monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-UST at concentrations of 4,100 uncrograms per liter (Rg/1) and 2,200 �ig/l • BTEX compounds were detected in the sample from monitonng well MW-1 at concentrations of 180 ltg/l benzene, 9 6 Rg/1 toluene, 40 µg/1 ethylbenzene and 46 µg/l total xylenes BTEX compounds were not detected in the samples collected from wells MW-2 through MW-5 and MW-UST • MTBE was detected in the water sample from well MW-1 by EPA Method 8260 Modified ' at a concentration of 5 7 µg/1 Laboratory results of samples analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons are summarized in Table 2 and, Table 3 The laboratory reports (CTEL Laboratory ID 0206038-1 through 0206038-6), quality Massurance and quality control(QA/QC)reports and chain-of-custody form is Included in Appendix B 4.0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS Based upon the results of this quarterly monitoring event, AGE concludes ' • The highest concentrations of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in samples collected from wells MW-1 and MW-UST, near the former UST location • MTBE was detected in the samples from well MW-1, at the western end of the site • At the present time, neither the vertical extent nor the northeastern lateral extent of the ' dissolved hydrocarbons have been defined ' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS ' Based on the results of this investigation, AGE recommends • Continued quarterly ground water monitoring • Installation of additional ground water monitoring wells for vertical and lateral delineation of the dissolved hydrocarbons at the site 1 ' Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc
