AGE-NC Project No 97-0351
32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF WATER SAMPLES
The results of laboratory analysis of ground water samples collected at the site over the last quarter
are as follows
• TPH-g was detected in the samples from ground water monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-
UST at concentrations of 5,200 micrograms per liter (Rg/l) and 19,000 µg/l
• BTEX compounds were detected in the samples from monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-UST
' at maximum concentrations of 770 Rg/l benzene, 82 Rg/l toluene and 160 Rg/l ethylbenzene
from sample MW-1 and 1,800 Rg/l total xylenes from sample MW-UST BTEX compounds
were not detected in the samples collected from wells MW-2 through MW-5
' • MTBE was detected in the water sample from wells MW-1, MW-2 and MW-4 by EPA
Method 8260 Modified at concentrations of 22 Rg/l, 1 8 Rg/l and 1 9µg11, respectively
1,2-DCA was detected in the water sample collected from well MW-UST at a concentration
' of 3 5 Rg/1
Laboratory results of samples analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons are summarized in Table 2 and
• Table 3 The laboratory reports (MAI Laboratory ID 64502 through 64507), quality assurance and
quality control (QA/QC) reports and chain-of-custody form is included in Appendix B
' 4 0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based upon the results of this quarterly monitoring event, AGE concludes
• The highest concentrations of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in samples
' collected from wells MW-1 and MW-UST, near the former UST location
• MTBE was detected in the samples from well MW-1,MW-2 and well MW-4 at the western
' end of the site
• 1,2-DCA was detected in the former UST area
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
' Based on the results of this investigation, AGE recommends
' Continued quarterly ground water monitoring
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
1
