WORK PLAN ADDENDUM <br /> January 1997 <br /> Stephens Marine <br /> 345 North Yosemite Street <br /> Stockton, California <br /> 10 INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> In accordance with a request from Mr Kent Gikas of the Union Safe Deposit Bank, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared the enclosed Work Plan Addendum for 345 North <br /> Yosemite Street in Stockton, California (the site) The scope of work is to assess the lateral and <br /> vertical extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water near the former underground storage <br /> tank(UST) areas,to determine if migrating contaminants from the former Texaco Bulk Facility are <br /> on the site and to determine the lateral and vertical extent of the metals impacted soil and/or ground <br /> water in the vicinity of the metals plating shop The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 - <br /> Location Map A plan of the site is depicted in Figure 2 - Site Plan <br /> i <br /> This work plan is prepared in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD)and the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board guidelines for the investigation of UST sites <br /> • <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 2 1 SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located in an industrial area of low topographic relief, located '/4-mile east of the <br /> intersection of Fremont Street and Pershing Avenue at approximately 10 feet above sea level The <br /> site is currently operated by Stephens Five Star Marine and other light industrial businesses The <br /> surface of the site is covered with mostly asphalt or concrete <br /> 2 2 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> It is our understanding that one underground storage tank(UST) was removed from the site in May <br /> 1986 The UST was located near the southern end of San Jose Street, south of the Fremont Street <br /> Analytical results of soil samples collected from UST excavation indicated that an unauthorized <br /> release of hydrocarbons had occurred A letter dated 47 March 1996 from the San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) requested further site <br /> assessment of soil and ground water in the vicinity of the former UST prior to granting certified site <br /> closure <br /> I <br /> .
