10 March 2005
• AGE-NC Project No 97-0351
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g and three of the four BTEX compounds were detected only in well MW-1 at concentrations
' of 2,000 micrograms per liter(µg/1) (TPH-g), 120 pg/I (benzene), 8 6 µg/1 (toluene) and 79 1 µg/1
(total xylenes) No other petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in ground water samples from the
other monitoring wells
' Analytical results of ground water samples are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory report(CTEL
Project No CT214-0410142), quality assurance/quality control report, and chain of custody forms
' are Included in Appendix C Documents confirming the upload of laboratory electronic deliverable
format (EDF) files and depth to water measurements to GeoTracker are Included In Appendix D
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' Based on data collected at the site, AGE concludes
• Ground water elevation in the monitored area ranged from 0 14 feet to 1 19 feet above MSL
' Flow direction was Inferred to be toward both the north and west In the area of MW-1 with
a calculated gradient of approximately 0 016 ft/ft and 0 027 ft/ft
' • TPH-g and three of the four BTEX compounds were only detected in the ground water
samples collected from well MW-1
• The benzene concentration in MW-1 was significantly above the DHS's Maximum
Contaminant Level of 10 µg/1 in drinking water
• At the present time, the vertical extent of dissolved hydrocarbons has not been defined
' S.O. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings recounted in this report, AGE recommends
' • Continuation of the quarterly ground water monitoring program, the next monitoring event
occurred in February 2005
• Conduct an updated well-head elevation survey
• Additional vertical assessment at the former UST area, with grab ground water samples
• If required, installation of additional ground water monitoring wells for lateral delineation
. of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons at the site
' Advanced GeoEnvnronmentai,Inc
