The site is <br /> currently an operating Unocal 76 Service Station an mini-mart. To meet 1998 UST' <br /> standards, the product dispensers are being upgrade . _ <br /> In accordance with the work plan on-file with San Jo quin County Public Health <br /> Department, Environmental Health Division (SJCE )'dated December 15, 1997, the <br /> following work will be performed: <br /> 1) removal of the product dispensers; and 2).sainpling of soil beneath these facilities to- <br /> 4:1 . . <br /> evaluate the-presence or absence of petroleum hydro arbons in soil at the subject site; <br /> 3) over-excavation of hydrocarbon-impacted soil to the maximum depth,of 10.feet below <br /> ground surface. Applicable permits for the dispenser upgrades will be obtained by Tosco . . <br /> Marketing Company's contractor prior-to the start o any work. t <br /> Work will be performed during weekday daylight hOL rs. Earth moving equipment may <br /> include a backhoe, an excavator, a loader, and other equipment as appropriate. <br /> Excavated soils and debris that contains petroleum h drocarbons will be temporarily <br /> stored onsite for a maximum of 30 days and will be underlain and covered with plastic <br /> sheeting, or with approval from SJCEHD, transporte to Forward Landfill's holding cell <br /> for..characterization prior to disposal at Forward Lanc fill in Manteca, California. I <br /> Excavation activities„will be observed by SJCEHD an J PACIFIC representatives: Soil } <br /> samples will be collected and analyzed per SJCEHD mquireme4s.
