.rr! <br /> ATTACHMENT A <br /> FIELD AND LABORATORY PROCEDURES <br /> i <br /> I <br /> Monitoring Well Abandonment <br /> The three monitoring wells on site will be over using 8-inch hollow-stem auger drilling <br /> equipment to a depth of approximately 30 feet Mow ground surface (bgs). The boring will <br /> be sealed using a bentonite grout which will be placed by tremie pipe or through the center of <br /> the hollow-stem augers in one continuous operation from the bottom of the interval to be <br /> filled-to the top. Emplacement of the bentonite gro it specifically shall not be accomplished <br /> by "free fall" from the ground surface. All down-hole.drilling equipment will be steam- j <br /> cleaned between borings. j <br /> Soil Cuttings and Purge Water <br /> i <br /> Soil cuttings generated during drilling -operations ill be temporarily stored on site and <br /> covered with plastic sheeting pending characterization and disposal. A California-certified <br /> disposal contractor will remove soil cuttings to an appropriate disposal facility. Water <br /> generated during steam cleaning will be temporafily stored in DOT-approved 55-gallon <br /> drums pending transport by the disposal contractor to an appropriate disposal or treatment <br /> facility. <br /> I <br /> i, <br />
