San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)has reviewed the analytical results for
groundwater samples collected quarterly from the above-referenced site at the request of Joe Neely at
Cambria Environmental Technology, hic. (Cambria). EHD approves the removal of ethyl tertiary butyl
ether(ETBE),di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), tertiary amyl methylfether(TAME), and 1,2-dibromoethane
(EDB), from the analytical list of compounds for all monitoring wells at this site. In addition, EHD has
removed methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE)from the analytical list for each monitoring well based on
historical non-detect results. Please continue to report total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-
g),benzene,toluene, ethylbenzene,total xylenes (BTEX),tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), and 1,2-
dichloroethane(1,2-DCA),during future quarterly groundwater monitoring events.
EHD agrees that a more detailed sensitive receptor survey is needed to augment the well survey report
included in the Site Assessment Work Platt, dated February 7,`2003, which was submitted by Wayne
Perry. The sensitive receptor survey report should include all kdomestic, municipal, industrial and other
wells within a 2,000-foot radius of this site. Contact the Department of Water Resources, municipal
water suppliers, and nearby commercial facilities for well information. Also perform a physical search
of the area to identify all wells, and show the location of all wells on a map, relative to the location of
this site. Submit any known construction details of the wells,'and identify all sources of information in
J
the well survey report.
Please contact Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS, at(209)468-3456 or vmccartneyC«;sjcehd.com, if you
have any questions regarding this letter.
