The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed Response to
Agency Letter(response), dated June 19, 2009, prepared by Conestoga-Rovers & Associates
(CRA) on your behalf for the above subject site. In the response, CRA states that low
concentrations of chemicals of concern currently detected in groundwater collected from
monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-4, and concentration trends illustrated in Figures 3,
4, and 5 of the response, do not warrant a corrective action plan (CAP), as directed by the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) by letter dated April 6, 2009.
The EHD concurs with CRA's assessment and rescinds the directive to submit a CAP.
Instead, please submit a comprehensive site closure summary to the EHD.
To comply with the California State Water Resources Control Board Resolution No. 2009-
0042 until case closure is obtained, the EHD approves the following sampling schedule:
• Semi-annually collect groundwater from MW-1, MW-3, and MW-4 and analyze the
samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g), benzene,
toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), tertiary-butyl alcohol (TBA), and 1,2-
dichloroethane (1,2-DCA).
• Annually collect groundwater from MW-2 and MW-5 and analyze the samples for the
same compounds.
Please contact Vicki McCartney at (209) 468-9852 or by e-mail at vmccartney(_sjcehd.com if
you have any questions regarding this letter.
