The SHSS will inform site <br /> ' personnel when and if hearing protection is required.High noise levels are usually associated with the operation <br /> of drill rigs,compressors,generators,pumps,motors,and portable hand tools including drills and jackhammers. If <br /> loud noise is apparent, or if normal conversation becomes difficult,hearing protection should be worn.Follow <br /> ' manufacturer's instructions on how to insert,wear, and fit-test hearing protectors. <br /> 5.5.2 Heavy Equipment <br /> ' Equipment,including earth-moving equipment,drill rigs,or other heavy machinery,will be operated in <br /> accordance with the manufacturer's operating manual and with all applicable safety regulations and standard <br /> operating procedures.
