' Community Health and Safety Plan <br /> RAINWATER CAR WASH,Manteca, California 95336 Page 23 <br /> May 30,10/2 <br /> ' • All sampling devices will be decontaminated by scrubbing or wiping a decontamination solution such as <br /> Alconox and water on the device.A clean water rinse must be applied; <br /> • Tools that are difficult to decontaminate will be kept in the Exclusion Zone and handled only by workers <br /> ' using the appropriate PPE; <br /> • Following decontamination of equipment using steam-cleaning, a final steam/water rinse must be applied; <br /> • The spent solutions,wash materials,brushes,and the like must,until shown otherwise,be considered <br /> ' contaminated and so treated;and <br /> • All porous equipment that is believed to be contaminated must be disposed of as hazardous waste. <br /> Each worker must follow the above procedures to prevent the transport of chemically affected materials off-site. <br /> 11. EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURES <br /> Emergency situations can include a fire or explosion,an environmental release, damage of an underground <br /> conduit during excavation or drilling,or accident or injury to one of the field personnel.In the event of an <br /> ' emergency, site personnel will signal distress with three blasts of a horn(a vehicle hom will be sufficient).At the <br /> sound of three horn blasts,other personnel on-site must immediately come to the assistance of the person <br /> honking.For incidents such as a fire or explosion or major release of hazardous gas,evacuation of the work area <br /> ' will be completed.The SHSS/PM and/or their designee will be notified immediately in the event of an <br /> evacuation. <br /> 11.1 Incident Reporting Procedure <br /> The quick and accurate transfer of information to all appropriate personnel is critical in the event of an <br /> emergency.The SHSS will coordinate all initial emergency response activities until relieved by the appropriate <br /> ' chain of command(i.e.,PM,fire department,hazmat,police,client etc.). <br /> To simplify the response procedure,an emergency can be reported by simply dialing 911. This approach can also <br /> ' be used for incidents requiring police or fire department assistance,or for medical emergencies. <br /> When making such a 911 call,be sure to give the following information to the dispatcher: <br /> ' • Your name, e.g.,"John Smith." <br /> • The nature of the incident,e.g.,"Fire." <br /> • The location of the incident,i.e.,"Street location and nearest intersection."The more specific you can <br /> ' make the address,the better. <br /> • What you need, e.g., "Fire Department and First Aid." <br /> ' • If you are able,where you will meet emergency responders, e.g.,"At the front gate weigh station." <br /> • If applicable,a call-back number or your pager number, e.g.,"I'll be at the scene;my pager number is <br /> 123-4567." <br /> ' • Is the situation stabilized?e.g., "I have the fire under control." <br /> • Is anyone injured or in need of emergency assistance?e.g.,"A mechanic working on a pump was <br /> burned." <br /> ' 11.2 Site Emergency Coordinator <br /> The Site Emergency Coordinator is: <br /> ' Ami Adini <br /> ' R Associates,Inc. <br />
