These emergency <br /> procedures will be carefully reviewed with the field team during the health and safety training session. <br /> Personnel in the Exclusion Zone should remain within sight of the SHSS. <br /> ' Repeated horn blasts will be the emergency signal to indicate that all personnel should leave the Exclusion Zone. <br /> ' The following standard hand signals will be used when vocal communication is not possible: <br /> Hands gripping throat........................................................ Out of air,can't breathe <br /> ' Grip partner's wrist or both hands around waist............ Leave area immediately <br /> Hands on top of head.......................................................... No,negative <br /> ' 11.8 Emergency Safety Equipment <br /> The following emergency and first aid equipment will be made available at the project work zone and/or the <br /> ' Contaminant Reduction Zone, as appropriate: <br /> • Fire extinguishers with multipurpose dry chemical(rating of 20-A:120-B:C); <br /> ' • Cell phone with extra battery; <br /> • Industrial first aid kit;and <br /> • Portable eye wash solution. <br /> 11.9 Directions to Hospital <br /> ' Directions to the hospital and a route map are provided in Section 1.3 of this HSP. <br /> 12. SAFE WORK PRACTICES <br /> ' To maintain strong safety awareness and enforce safe procedures,the following personnel requirements and <br /> prohibitions have been established for the site: <br /> ' • The work area will be restricted to authorized visitors and personnel.Daily tailgate safety meetings will <br /> be held at the beginning of each shift to discuss site conditions,field tasks being performed,planned <br /> modifications, and work concerns. <br /> ' • All personnel entering the site will be required to identify themselves to the SHSS. Personnel who have <br /> not attended a tailgate safety meeting on that day will be required to do so with the SHSS or other <br /> authorized representative. Personnel unfamiliar with the site will be informed of site hazards and <br /> instructed to avoid contact with contaminated surfaces,soils,sample materials,or related equipment,and <br /> will be instructed to remain a minimum of 50 feet(15.3 meters)upwind of all active work areas. <br /> • All personnel will adhere to the decontamination procedures outlined in this HSP. <br /> ' Ami Adini <br /> &Assaciates,inc. <br />
