' 03 April 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0333
' Page 6 of 12
' Prior to mobilization, each proposed monitoring well location will be clearly marked and a utility
clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert.
' 3.2. MULTI-LEVEL WELL BORE-HOLE DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION
AGE has reviewed the lithologic data and ground water analytical data derived from samples
collected during the CPT investigation. Based on review of the CPT data, AGE believes that
installation of multi-level monitoring wells could be effectively utilized to assess and monitor deeper
' petroleum hydrocarbon-impact. AGE proposes to install seven (7) multi-level ground water
monitoring wells at the site as part of the site assessment activities. Well locations and screen
intervals are proposed to provide definition of the vertical extent of dissolved petroleum-impact and
to monitor vertical migration of the plume of petroleum-impacted ground water. Cuttings and
rinseate generated during drilling will be containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon
drums, and stored on-site in an area lacking public access. Disposal alternatives will be evaluated
' based on results of soil and water analysis. Proposed monitoring well locations are illustrated on
Figure 2.
' Based on the substantial petroleum-impact encountered at wells MW-1,MW-2,MW-3,MW-4 and
MW-6 and in the ground water samples collected from CPT soil borings P-7, P-B, P-9 and P-10,
' AGE proposes seven(7) multi-level ground water wells in the following locations:
• One 2-inch diameter multi-level ground water monitoring well (MW-7) located
' approximately 5 to 10 feet south of MW-6 and screen intervals at approximate depths of 50
-y and 55 feet bsg (A), 70 and 75 feet bsg(B),95 and 100 feet bsg(C), 130 and 135 feet bsg
(D) and 170 to 175 feet bsg(E);
• One 2-inch diameter multi-level ground water monitoring well (MW-8) located i<u J-
approximately 90 to 110 feet southeast of MW-6 and screen intervals at depths between 15 'r —lob
and 25 feet bsg(A), 50 and 55 feet bsg(B), 70 and 75 feet bsg(C), 95 and 100 feet bsg(D), ).30 &T
130 and 135 feet bsg (E) and 170 to 175 feet bsg(F); 176 It
• One 2-inch diameter multi-level ground water monitoring well (MW-9) located
approximately 10 to 20 feet east of MW-4 and screen intervals at approximate depths of 50
/7 and 55 feet bsg (A), 70 and 75 feet bsg (B), 95 and 100 feet bsg (C), 130 and 135 feet bsg
(D) and 170 to 175 feet bsg (E);
• One 2-inch diameter multi-level ground water monitoring well (MW-10) located
approximately 110 to 130 feet northwest of MW-3 and screen intervals at depths between
' l5-and25..feet bsg (A), 50 and 55 feet bsg (B), 70 and 75 feet bsg (C), 95 and 100 feet bsg
(D), 130 and 135 feet bsg(E) and 170 to 175 feet bsg(F);
' Advanced GmEnvironmental,Inc.
