Date: <br /> Manufacturer training: <br /> OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS <br /> NOTES <br /> On site to witness the following: <br /> -Witnessed lower explosion level (LEL)readings of the inside of the unknown tank.The LEL reading was 0%. <br /> -The photoionization detector(PID)reading of the tank was 0.0 ppm. <br /> -Witnessed soil sampling from below the removed tank. Tank pit was approximately 12 ft deep. The soil samples beneath the <br /> tank was obtained with an excavator. Samples were collected at center of the tank pit at least 2 feet below the native soil. <br /> Groundwater was not observed during excavation.Tank soil samples were labeled as"base-1". The soil samples obtained <br /> from the tanks were described to be moist and silty/sandy soil. No noticeable staining or discoloration was observed.The <br /> sampler stated no odor was found. The photoionization detector(PID)readings for these tank soil samples were O.Oppm. <br /> -Tank height was 10 ft 6 with a diameter of 5 ft. <br /> -Tank had a small hole at the end and a black sludge was coming out of it.. <br /> -Soil stockpile from excavation was approximately 10 cubic yards. Soil from stockpile was not sampled. <br /> -The liquid found in the unknown tank was put into two 55 gallon drums. Liquid was described to be odorless with a rusty <br /> orangish color. Samples were taken from one of the drums. Samples taken from the drum were labeled as"WW1."The liquid <br /> in the drums has a PID reading of 0.5 ppm. <br /> -Sampling was conducted by Terracon Consultants Inc. <br /> -Sampler: Brain Carey and Marshall Carter <br /> -According to Brian Carey, samples are going to be process as unknown/waste oil per SJC EHD's tank removal sampling <br /> protocols. <br /> To minimize person to person contact EHD is choosing to write the name of person receiving the report instead of having them <br /> sign. <br /> SR0081790 SC131 07/22/2020 <br /> EHD 23-01 Rev.06/30/15 Page 1 of 2 Underground Storage Tank Program Service Request Inspection Report <br />
