Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> RAINWATER CAR WASH <br /> ' 420 West Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California <br /> ' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> ' In accordance with the request of Mr Phil Elder of Rainwater Car Wash, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> (PIER)for 420 West Yosemite Avenue (the site), Manteca, California The scope of work included <br /> ' the advancement of six soil probe borings and the collection and analysis of soil and ground water <br /> samples The location of the site and its surroundings are illustrated on Figure 1, mayor features on <br /> the site and soil probe boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> 1 This investigation was performed in accordance with the guidelines of the San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and by the Central Valley <br /> ' Regional Water Quality Control Board for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST)sites <br /> ' 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> '. In December 1998, three gasoline USTs and associated underground product piping were removed <br /> frnm the site Based on field observations and analytical results of soil samples collected during tank <br /> removal activities, the PHS-EHD directed by letter dated 23 February 1999 that a subsurface <br /> ' investigation be performed at the site to delineate the vertical and horizontal extent of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon-impact In accordance with PHS-EHD directives, procedures for a subsurface <br /> investigation xN ere outlined in the Work Plan Addendum, dated 12 March 1999 and approved by the <br /> PHS-EHD by letter on 25 March 1999 <br /> ' -) 1 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is located at 420 West Yosemite Avenue, on the southeast earner at the intersection of <br /> ' Yosemite Avenue and Jessie Street The site is located in a topographically flat area at an ele\ation <br /> between 30 and 35 feet above mean sea level in Manteca, San Joaquin County California 1-he site <br /> is within the northeast quarter of Section 5, Township 2 South, Range 7 East Mount Diablo Base <br /> and Meridian (:Manteca Quadrangle, 7 5-Minute USGS Topographic Series 1952, photo revised <br /> 1987) <br /> ' 1 he site is presently operated as a fueling facility and a mini-market One 10 000-gallon one 6,000 <br /> gallon and one 4,000-gallon gasoline USTs Aere formerly located on the «est section of the <br /> ' <br /> property One 12 000 gallop i^vasollnn UST is presently located oto the cast section of t1le pv op-,pty <br /> adjacent properties to the south are pnmanly residential properties north east and «est of the situ <br /> are citilired primarily fol co111mc rcial purposes <br /> 9drancedGeoFrmronmin€11 irir <br />
