12 March 2001
AGE-NC Project No 97-0333
evaluate a general zone of capture (radius of influence) achievable during ground water extraction
at the site The proposed aquifer pump tests will be designed to obtain general aquifer characteristics
such as hydraulic conductivity, storativity,transmissivity,draw-dawn at a constant pumping rate and
radius of influence
34 REPORT PREPARATION
Results of the aquifer pump test will be presented in a report of findings, based on the results of the
aquifer pump test, a ground water interim remediation system will be designed and proposed to the
PHS-EHD/RWQCB for the site The report of findings will be in a format acceptable to the RWQCB
(Appendtx A guidelines), and will be reviewed and signed by a California Registered Geologist
4.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Registered Geologist Procedures for well installations, well development and aquifer pump test
procedures are described below
41 DRILLING
A soil boring for installation of a ground water extraction well will be advanced at the site to a depth
of 35 feet bsg utilizing a truck-mounted, hollow-stem dnll ng and 15-inch diameter hollow-stem
augers, a second soil boring for installation of a ground water observation well will be advanced at
the site to a depth of 35 feet bsg utilizing 8-inch diameter hollow--stem augers Soil cuttings and
rinseate generated during drilling activities will be containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved
55-gallon drums, and stored on-site in an area lacking public access Disposal alternatives for
rinseate and stockpiled soil will be selected based on results of a laboratory analysis
42 WELL COMPLETION
The ground water extraction boring will be single-completed utdinng 6-inch diameter schedule 40
polyvinylchloride (PVC) well casing with 20 feet of 030-inch slotted well screen, the observation
well boring will be single-completed utilizing 2-inch diameter schedule 40 PVC well casing with
ZO feet of 0 020-inch slotted well screen The proposed ,Fell construction diagrams are depicted in
Figures 5 and 6
orf F i,
1L
