INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of Mr Phil Elder, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br /> ' quarterly report for 420 West Yosemite Avenue (the site), Manteca, California The report <br /> documents procedures and results for ground water momtonng and interim ground water remediation <br /> performed at the site between March 2004 and June 2004 (second quarter),The site setting is <br /> r, illustrated on Figure 1, site structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> The enclosed report was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) for investigation of underground storage tank <br /> (UST) sites Background information and a description of prior investigations at,the site were <br /> ' included in Appendix A of Quarterly Report- Third Quarter 2002, dated 06 December 2002 <br /> The objectives of the second quarter 2004 investigation was to characterize, assess and monitor <br /> dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations in ground <br /> water,to characterize ground water flow direction and gradient and to continue interim remediation <br /> through ground water extraction and treatment at the site The following is a brief summary of <br /> second quarter site assessment and interim ground water remediation activities performed at the site <br /> • 10 March to 23 June 2004-Continued pump-and-treat interim remediation utilizing on-site <br /> I ' extraction well EW-1, discharged approximately 304,196 gallons of treated ground water <br /> into City of Manteca sanitary sewer system <br /> • 14 April, 13 May and 23 June 2004 - Monthly monitoring events at the ground water <br /> extraction and treatment remediation system, extraction well EW-1 was in operation <br /> • 22 & 23 June 2004 - AGE performed a quarterly ground water monitoring event (second <br /> quarter 2004) at wells MW-i through MW-13 <br /> ,I 2.0 GROUND WATER EXTRACTION-TREATMENT REMEDIATION SYSTEM <br /> ' Between 10 March 2004 and 23 June 2004 (second quarter 2004), a ground water extraction and <br /> treatment system was in operation at the site as ground water interim remediation The ground water <br /> treatment operation and maintenance procedures for the site were outlined in AGE's Interim <br /> ' Remediation Work Plan -June 2001, dated 21 June 2001 <br /> 1 <br /> ' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
