INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of Mr Phil Elder, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br /> ' quarterly report for 420 West Yosemite Avenue (the site), Manteca, California The report <br /> documents procedures and results for ground water monitoring and interim groundwater remediation <br /> performed at the site between December 2003 and March 2004 (first quarter) The site setting is <br /> illustrated on Figure 1, site structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> The enclosed report was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) for investigation of underground storage tank <br /> (UST) sites Background information and a description of prior investigations at the site were <br /> included in Appendix A of Quarterly Report- Third Quarter 2002, dated 06 December 2002 <br /> The objectives the of first quarter 2004 investigation was to characterize, assess and monitor <br /> dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations in ground <br /> water,to characterize ground water flow direction and gradient and to continue interim remediation <br /> through ground water extraction and treatment at the site The following is a brief summary of first <br /> 'Ilequarter site assessment and interim ground water remediation activities performed at the site <br /> • 26 December to 10 March 2004 - Continued pump-and-treat interim remediation utilizing <br /> Ion-site extraction well EW-1, discharged approximately 280,576 gallons of treated ground <br /> water into City of Manteca sanitary sewer system <br /> 1 • 15 January, 11 February and 10 March 2004-Monthly monitoring events at the ground water <br /> extraction and treatment remediation system, extraction well EW-1 was in operation <br /> • 31 March,01 April and 02 Apn12004-AGE performed a quarterly ground water monitoring <br /> event (first quarter 2004) at wells MW-1 through MW-13 <br /> ' 2.0 GROUND WATER EXTRACTION-TREATMENT REMEDIATION SYSTEM <br /> ' Between 26 December 2003 and 10 March 2003 (first quarter 2004),a ground water extraction and <br /> treatment system was in operation at the site as ground water interim remediation The ground water <br /> treatment operation and maintenance procedures for the site were outlined in AGE's Interim <br /> ' Remediation Work Plan -June 2001, dated 21 June 2001 <br /> 1 <br /> ' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
