1 Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2003 <br />' RAINWATER CAR WASH <br /> 420 West Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California <br /> ' 1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK, <br /> ' At the request of Mr Phil Elder, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br /> quarterly report for 420 West Yosemite Avenue (the site), Manteca, California The report <br /> documents procedures and results for groundwater monitoring and interim groundwater remediation <br /> ' performed at the site between December 2002 and March 2003 (first quarter) The site setting is <br /> illustrated on Figure 1, site structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> ' The enclosed report was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) for investigation of underground storage tank <br /> (UST) sites Background information and a description of prior investigations at the site were <br /> ' included in Appendix A of Quarterly Report - Third Quarter 2002, dated 06 December 2002 <br /> The objectives the of first quarter investigations were to characterize, assess and monitor dissolved <br /> ' petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations in ground water, to <br /> characterize ground water flow direction and gradient and to continue ground water pump-and-treat <br /> interim remediation at the site The following is a brief summary of first quarter site assessment and <br /> ' interim ground water remediation activities performed at the site <br /> • Between 12 December 2002 and 27 March 2003 - Continued pump-and-treat interim <br /> ' remediation utilizing on-site extraction well EW-1, discharged approximately 183,191 <br /> gallons of extracted and treated ground water into City of Manteca sanitary sewer system <br /> ' • On 24 January 2003-AGE performed a monthly monitoring event at the ground water pump- <br /> and-treat interim remediation system <br /> • On 24 February 2003 -AGE performed a monthly monitoring event at the ground water <br /> ' pump-and-treat interim remediation system <br /> • 27 & 28 March 2003 - AGE performed a quarterly ground water monitoring event (first <br /> ' quarter 2003) at wells MW-1 through MW-13, monthly monitoring also was performed at <br /> the pump-and-treat interim remediation system <br /> ' <br /> 2.0 GROUND WATER PUMP AND TREAT REMEDIATION SYSTEM <br /> Between 12 December 2002 and 27 March 2003 (first quarter 2003),a ground water pump-and-treat <br /> interim remediation system was in continuous operation at the site The interim ground water pump- <br /> and-treat system operation and maintenance procedures for the site were outlined in AGE's Interim <br /> Remediation Work Plan -June 2001, dated 21 June 2001 <br /> ' Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
