1 Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2003 ' RAINWATER CAR WASH 420 West Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California ' 1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK, ' At the request of Mr Phil Elder, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this quarterly report for 420 West Yosemite Avenue (the site), Manteca, California The report documents procedures and results for groundwater monitoring and interim groundwater remediation ' performed at the site between December 2002 and March 2003 (first quarter) The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1, site structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 ' The enclosed report was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) for investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites Background information and a description of prior investigations at the site were ' included in Appendix A of Quarterly Report - Third Quarter 2002, dated 06 December 2002 The objectives the of first quarter investigations were to characterize, assess and monitor dissolved ' petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) concentrations in ground water, to characterize ground water flow direction and gradient and to continue ground water pump-and-treat interim remediation at the site The following is a brief summary of first quarter site assessment and ' interim ground water remediation activities performed at the site • Between 12 December 2002 and 27 March 2003 - Continued pump-and-treat interim ' remediation utilizing on-site extraction well EW-1, discharged approximately 183,191 gallons of extracted and treated ground water into City of Manteca sanitary sewer system ' • On 24 January 2003-AGE performed a monthly monitoring event at the ground water pump- and-treat interim remediation system • On 24 February 2003 -AGE performed a monthly monitoring event at the ground water ' pump-and-treat interim remediation system • 27 & 28 March 2003 - AGE performed a quarterly ground water monitoring event (first ' quarter 2003) at wells MW-1 through MW-13, monthly monitoring also was performed at the pump-and-treat interim remediation system ' 2.0 GROUND WATER PUMP AND TREAT REMEDIATION SYSTEM Between 12 December 2002 and 27 March 2003 (first quarter 2003),a ground water pump-and-treat interim remediation system was in continuous operation at the site The interim ground water pump- and-treat system operation and maintenance procedures for the site were outlined in AGE's Interim Remediation Work Plan -June 2001, dated 21 June 2001 ' Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc
