INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of Mr Phil Elder, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br /> ' quarterly report for 420 West Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California (the site) The report <br /> documents procedures and results for groundwater monitoring and interim groundwater remediation <br /> performed at the site between March 2005 and June 2005 (second quarter) The site setting is <br /> illustrated on Figure 1, site structures and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 <br /> The enclosed report was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the Central Valley <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the investigation of underground storage <br /> tank(UST) sites 'Background information and a description of prior investigations at the site were <br /> ' included in Appendix A of Quarterly Report- Third Quarter 2002, dated 06 December 2002 <br /> The objectives of the second quarter 2005 investigation was to characterize, assess, and monitor <br /> ' dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons and methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE)concentrations in ground <br /> water,to characterize ground water flow direction and gradient,and to continue interim remediation <br /> through ground water extraction and treatment at the site The following is a brief summary of first <br /> ' . quarter monitoring and interim ground water remediation activities performed at the site <br /> • 15 March 2005 to 08 June 2005 - Continued pump-and-treat interim remediation utilizing <br /> on-site extraction well EW-1, discharged approximately 331,560 gallons of treated ground <br /> water into the City of Manteca sanitary sewer system <br /> • 20 April, 09 May,08 June 2005 -Monthly monitoring events at the ground water extraction <br /> and treatment remediation system, extraction well EW-1 was in operation <br /> • 05 & 06 July 2005 -AGE performed a quarterly ground water monitoring event(end of the <br /> second quarter 2 00 5) at wells MW-1 through MW-13 <br /> ' 2.0 GROUND WATER EXTRACTION-TREATMENT REMEDIATION SYSTEM <br /> ' Between 15 March 2005 and 08 June 2005,a shallow ground water extraction and treatment system <br /> was in operation at the site for the purpose of interim ground water remediation The ground water <br /> treatment operation and maintenance procedures for the site were outlined in AGE's Interim <br /> Remediation Work Plan -June 2001, dated 21 June 2001 <br /> • <br /> ' s Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
