All soil samples were submitted using chain-of-custody protocol to McCampbell Analytical, Inc.
(McCampbell) for lead analysis. Eight samples were further analyzed for CAM 17 metals, tin, and
polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) as requested by SJCEHD.
With the exception of lead, CAM 17 metals, tin, and PAHs were not detected at concentrations
exceeding the site cleanup goals established in the SJCEHD-approved Soil Remedial Excavation
Workplan (SREW). Lead was reported in three samples (P16, G12, and G13) at concentrations
exceeding its cleanup goal of 80 mg/kg. Lead results are summarized in Table 2, CAM 17 metals and
tin results are summarized in Table 3, and PAH results are summarized in Table 4. Analytical
laboratory reports are included as Attachment A.
The areas of P16, G12, and G13 were further excavated on June 1, 2, and 5, 2017, to remove soil with
lead concentrations exceeding the 80 mg/kg cleanup goal. Geocon collected 14 additional confirmation
samples on June 5, 2017, and submitted the samples to McCampbell for lead analysis. As summarized
on Table 2, all remaining confirmation samples at the site had a reported lead concentration less than
the cleanup goal of 80 mg/kg.
Based on the final confirmation sample results, and with the concurrence of SJCEHD during a
June 14, 2017, telephone call between Mr. Kith and Andy Mantell of NV 5, remediation was
considered complete and the Site was rough graded to level on June 15 to 17, 2017.
Based on Geocon's field records, 65 truckloads of non-RCRA hazardous waste and 47 truckloads of
RCRA hazardous waste were removed from the site for disposal at Clean Harbors Buttonwillow
Class I landfill. The truck loading dates were as follows:
DATE Non-RCRA Loads RCRA Loads
March 7, 2017 10 5
March 8, 2017 12 4
March 9, 2017 12 5
March 10, 2017 1 5
March 13, 2017 5 5
March 14, 2017 5 5
March 15, 2017 5 5
March 16, 2017 0 8
March 17, 2017 2 4
June 2, 2017 7 1
June 5, 2017 5 1 0
June 8, 2017 1 0
Total 65 47
Geocon Project No.ESS57-02-02 -2- August 25,2017
