Geningrcal2ecFriucs znc Page G <br /> Soil&Groundwater Investigation Report <br /> Ted Peters-UST <br /> Project No 640 2 <br /> November 3, 1999 <br /> Table 3 to Appendix A is a summary of water level elevations, gradient slopes and bearings <br /> Figure 3 is a groundwater gradient map for the site <br />' 3.3 Geology and Field Observations <br /> The following section discusses the subjective field observations and geology documented <br />' during this investigation based on the interpretations of the field geologist <br /> • The geology of the site is predominately sands and silts <br /> • The geology was inconsistent from borehole to borehole without any specific layers <br />' continuing from borehole to borehole <br /> • A gasoline odor was noted in the 5-foot sample interval in MW-2 <br /> • The OVM detected volatile compounds in the 5 and l 0-foot sample intervals in MW-2 <br />' <br /> 4.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />' Based on our interpretation of the data collected over the course of this subsurface <br /> investigation we have reached several conclusions These conclusions are based on the <br /> premise that the data we considered, although incomplete, are representative of actual site <br />' conditions We acknowledge that there may be undiscovered conditions, which would upon <br /> their consideration, change our interpretation and thus our conclusions <br /> 10 Our recommendations are based on our knowledge of site conditions and the state and <br /> limitations of subsurface investigative technology <br /> 4.1 Conclusions <br /> Geological Technics Inc , taking into consideration the data obtained during the Jul 1999 <br /> soil and groundwater investigations, makes the following conclusions y <br />' Subsurface Investigation <br /> The following conclusions are made based on our professional interpretation of the field <br />' observations made during the completion of the soil borings, well installation, and soil and <br /> groundwater sample test data <br /> 1 The contamination detected in the soil and groundwater around the former UST is neither <br />' wide spread or of significantly elevated levels and appears not to pose a threat to public <br /> health or the environment <br /> 2 Groundwater gradient is N70°W at 0 0014 ft/ft in the southern part of the property and <br /> S49°W at 0 004 ft/ft in the northern part of the property <br /> 3 Groundwater is fairly shallow across the site, S to 10 feet bgs <br /> 4.2 Recommendations <br /> Geological Technics Inc makes the followingrecommendations based <br /> outlined above <br /> on the conclusions <br />
