YOSEMITE AVENUE - MANTECA
A proposal for further assessment and/or remediation of the
groundwater contamination documented at the above referenced site
has been submitted to this office.
At the current time, the San Joaquin Local Health District (SJLHD) is
not authorized to enforce assessment and remediation of groundwater
contamination. Therefore, all assessment and remediation activities
involving groundwater contamination must be reviewed and approved by
the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB)
and/or Department of Health Services-Toxic Substances Control
Division (DOHS-TSCD) prior to initiating further activity at this
site.
In addition, the SJLHD will continue to xequire local approval and
permits for certain activities such as borings, monitoring
wells/piezometers, vapor probe surveys, Extraction systems, etc. All ;
local permitting will require CVRWQCB approval in writing prior to
permit issuance.
I
Items within the Workplan that should be clarified to ensure permit i
issuance are:
1: One monitoring well to the east property appears to be
located on adjacent property. Submit documentation verifying
location, parcel address, and property owner. If owner is other than
Mr. Brophy, permission must be granted by second property owner to
drill on adjacent parcel.
2: Performing sidewall sampling in tank pit excavation at 10 !
feet is not clearly explained. Additional excavation to a depth of
18 feet with subsequent sampling has previously been accomplished.
Administration Clinical Services Environmental Health Public Health Nursing
468-3400 468-3830 468-3420 468-3860
Air Pollution Community Services Laboratory WIC
468-3470 468-3820 468-3460 468-3280
AIDS Information 46 -3820
