Work Plan for Re-excavation May 3, 1989
Former Texaco Service station, Manteca, California AGS 38053-1
initiated by the field geologist and will accompany the sample to
the analytical laboratory. A copy of this record will. be
included in the Appendix of the subsequent report.
Excavation of Tank Cavity_ and Soil Sam lin
A class A licensed contractor will excavate the tank cavity and
an Applied GeoSystems geologist will be present onsite to observe
excavation and collect appropriate soil samples. The work will
include excavating the initial tank cavity to the ground-water
surface at approximately 23 feet below grade. If subjective
^- evidence of soil contamination (i.e. , discoloration or obvious
hydrocarbon odor) exists to the north, this soil will also be
removed. A sanitary sewer line is present at the eastern edge of
no. w the former tank location and may preclude excavating to the east.
Monitoring well MW-3 is located south of the former tank cavity,
and the soil sample analyzed from this boring indicated no
detectable total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline;
however, a soil sample will be collected from this wall and
analyzed for TPH as diesel. The site building is located to the
west of the former tank location. A soil sample will be
collected from this sidewall. If the results of this soil sample
indicate that the concentration of TPH as gasoline and diesel
AOR114901 GOOSYSZO S
