Evaluation of Contamination January 3, 2989 <br /> Former Texaco Service Station, Manteca, California AGS 38053-1 <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND <br /> ' The site is located at 941 East Yosemite Avenue in Manteca, <br /> California, approximately 3,500 feet west of Highway 99, as shown <br /> on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate P-1) . The service station has <br /> been abandoned and the dispenser islands have been removed from <br /> the site. The abandoned station building remains at the site. <br /> Structures in the bordering area are primarily Commercial <br /> buildings with some single- and multi-family residences. An <br /> orchard is located directly across Yosemite Avenue, south of the <br /> site. The site is at an approximate elevation of 39 feet above <br /> } ` mean sea level (U. S. Geological Survey Topographic Map of the <br /> Manteca, California, 7.5-Minute Quadrangle) . <br /> Four underground gasoline storage tanks were located east of the <br /> abandoned station building. A sewer line is located directly <br /> adjacent to the east side of the former location of the <br /> ® underground storage tanks. The approximate locations of the <br /> tanks and other selected site features are shown on the <br /> Generalized Site plan (Plate P-2) . Information provided by Mr. <br /> Brophy indicates that these four 1,000-gallon gasoline tanks were <br /> used to store regular.-leaded gasoline, regular-unleaded gasoline, <br /> super-unleaded gasoline, and diesel fuel.
