August 8, 1988 AGS Job No. 38053-1
Former Texaco Service Station, Manteca, California
deposition of lacustrine clay over extensive areas. Higher
energy environments, such as rivers and streams, resulted in the
deposition of channel sand and gravel.
The site is underlain by very gently dipping Quaternary fluvial
sediments consisting of sand, silt, and clay. The topographic
surface in the area is slightly irregular, with a generally
northwestward slope. The nearest surface stream is Lone Tree
Creek approximately 4 miles north of the site. Spreckles Sugar
wastewater ponds are located approximately 0.5 mile south of the
site.
Based on the water level within the excavation, previous
experience in the area, and conversations with personnel of the
California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley
Region, ground water is expected to be approximately 20 feet
below grade. The direction of ground-water flow is expected to
~' be variable, ranging from west-northwest to northeast.
PROXIMITY TO WELLS AND UTILITIES
ie
There are two municipal water-supply wells located within 2,000
---.. _
of the site: one approximately 1, one-----
feet --- — ----
650 to the soot ---an .._...
i,
approximately 2,000 feet to the northeast.
