r
August 8, 1988 AGS Job No. 38053-1
Former Texaco Service Station, Manteca, California
surface. This interval will allow sampling of the air/water
interface representative of the formation during seasonal
fluctuations of the ground-water level.
The annular space in the well will be packed with sorted sand to
a point approximately 2 feet above the slotted interval. A 1- to
2-foot-thick bentonite plug will be added above the sand as a
seal against cement entering the sand pack. The remaining
annulus will be backfilled with neat cement and bentonite powder
to grade.
_.
The monitoring wells will be protected with cast-aluminum utility
boxes equipped with PVC skirts. The boxes have watertight seals
to protect against surfac -.-water infi- ration and require a
specially designed wrench to open. This design discourages
vandalism and reduces the possibility of accidental disturbance
of the well.
Ground-Water amp-lirg
Water samples will be collected for subjective analysis prior to
purging and development of the monitoring wells. A sample will
be collected from the water surface in each well with a Teflon.
------ `---- 'ective------- __ _..----------
bailer cleaned with Alconox and deionized water.
