California.
f Mr. Manghan:
At the request of Mr. Gary Brophy (property owner), Applied GeoSystems, Inc. (Applied
GeoSystems) is submitting this status report for the environmental investigation being y
performed at the subject site. This letter is pursuant to the required reporting outlined in
Title 23 of the California Administrative Code. Np'soil..6e water:`contaiiiing hydrocarbons
h s'beeri'generated during this.quarter. ;
Hydrocarbons were initially detected in soil and ground water at the site during previous
investigations by Canonie Environmental Services Corporation (Canonie) of Stockton,
California. In October 1988,Applied GeoSystems observed the drilling of three soil borings
and the construction of three monitoring wells at the site. Results of laboratory analyses
of soil and ground water collected during this investigation indicated the presence of
hydrocarbons. On the basis of the results of this investigation,we recommended excavation
of soil containing hydrocarbons to remove the source for future migration of hydrocarbonse
the
into ground water and 1 year of quarterly monitoring of ground water to eval
fluctuations of hydrocarbon concentrations in the ground water at the site.
In October 1989,Applied GeoSystems observed the excavation of approximately 1,100 cubic
yards of soil from the site to the depth we had previously noted ground water in the onsite
wells and the lateral limits of organic vapor meter readings and subjective evidence of
----- ------.-_.._—.__.._. - -------hydrocarbons.---- .
