Beginning January 1, 2013, all businesses are required to submit all new(or any changes to existing) <br /> hazardous waste information online to the CERS at http://cers.calepa.ca.gov. Be sure to include your hazardous <br /> waste activity in the Businesses Activities section in CERS in addition to any other relevant activities and required <br /> fields. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 303 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to maintain all communication or alarm systems, spill control, or decontamination <br /> equipment. <br /> The fire extinguisher was observed with an annual maintenance date of 2013 and a gauge reading 'recharge.' All <br /> facility communications or alarm systems,fire protection equipment, spill control equipment, and decontamination <br /> equipment,where required, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to assure its proper operation in time of <br /> emergency. Immediately begin this practice. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 403 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> Several 55 gallon drums and one 5 gallon bucket were observed with unsealed lids. According to the maintenance <br /> worker on site,these containers all held hazardous waste. All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all <br /> times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste <br /> containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or tanks of hazardous waste. <br /> Several 55 gallon drums, one 20 gallon drum, and one 5 gallon drum of unidentified waste solids and liquids were <br /> observed around the fuel tanks with no hazardous waste labeling. According to the maintenance worker on site,these <br /> containers are all hazardous waste absorbents and liquids. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the <br /> following information: <br /> -the words"Hazardous Waste" <br /> -name and address of generator <br /> -hazardous properties(ignitable, corrosive, reactive,toxic) <br /> -physical state(liquid, solid) <br /> -composition (contents) <br /> -accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required information.
