Gaitan, Jason [EHD]
From: Jon Lorente <jonl@efuelco.com>
Sent: Thursday, August 27, 2020 1:40 PM
To: Gaitan,Jason [EHD]
Cc: Mike Wever; Kiki Shaw
Subject: Re: 777 S. Feel free to call me if further clarity is required.
1. The 55-gallon drum contained oily water from when the 10,000 gallon AST was re-activated.
2. The diesel fuel stains inside the secondary containment were cleaned up using an absorbent sand. The sand was
placed inside of a waste drum marked as hazardous waste labeled with our CA#.
3. The fuel that was on the surface of the dirt outside of the secondary containment was removed and placed in
the waste drum marked as hazardous waste labeled with our CA#.
4. The nozzle was observed to be leaking at the union where the threads meet the hose/swivel.The seal was
repaired with blue Teflon tape and a product friendly thread sealant called Gasoila.
Thank you,
Jon Lorente
Director of Compliance and Safety
eFUEL, LLC
Cell: (408) 499-0336
1346 E.Taylor Street
San Jose, CA 95133
From: "Gaitan,Jason [EHD]" <jgaitan@sjgov.org>
Date: Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 12:31 PM
To: Jon Lorente <jonl@efuelco.com>
Cc: Mike Wever<Mike@wevertrucking.com>, Kiki Shaw<Kiki@wevertrucking.com>
Subject: RE: 777 S. Locust Street - Return to Compliance Corrective Action Statement
Hi Jon,
Thank you for your patience. I have a couple of questions before I closed out the violations.
-The 55-gallon drum with unknown contents inside the secondary containment for the diesel tank, what was inside of it?
-How were the diesel stains observed in and around the secondary containment of the diesel tank cleaned and managed
afterwards?
-please provide a response on how leaking diesel nozzle was fixed.
1
