Melton Rd., Manteca
APN 257-220-37, SR0080613
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil
Suitability/Nitrate Loading (SSNL) Study, dated May 13, 2019 and its addendum dated July 2, 2020
for the above noted location and has the following comments for your consideration.
The SSNL was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater
treatment system (OWTS) usage and the potential impact of nitrates to groundwater for the proposed
project development. The proposed development project includes:
1. A three-bedroom home dwelling with OWTS usage of 420 gallons per day of wastewater.
Based on the information provided, the EHD can make the following findings:
The SSNL Study supports the suitability for standard OWTS usage for the proposed development
project on the above mentioned parcel, pursuant to San Joaquin County Ordinance Code Title 9,
Section 9-1105.2(d), provided proposed OWTS and 100% replacement area can meet all required
minimum setbacks from any water wells.
The percolation tests conducted at the site indicate the soil percolate wastewater at rate of 5.10
minute per inch. This rate require an 8 foot separation between bottom of dispersal leach field and
highest level of ground water.
If you have any questions please contact Naseem Ahmed, Registered Environmental Health
Specialist, REHS, at nahmed@sjgov.org or (209) 468-3436.
M illhael Kith, REHS
Program Coordinator
Cc: Mathew Ng
1868 E.
