Hill Trucking facility located at 28850 South Tracy Boulevard in Tracy, California. The
Assessor's number for the property studied is 253-120-53. A site vicinity map is presented on
Figure 1. A recent aerial photograph showing the locations of our percolation test holes and the
approximate location of the existing septic system and well is presented on Figure 2. A historical
aerial photograph from 1993 showing the approximate site and parcel boundaries is presented
on Figure 3. The purpose of our study was to determine the suitability of the property for septic
tank usage. The study was performed in general accordance with the requirements of the San
Joaquin County Ordinance Code Title 9, Section 9-1105.2(d). The following sections include
background information regarding the project site, past and present uses of the site, and the
groundwater conditions in the project area. In addition, discussions regarding our investigative
procedures and the site conditions are included. Finally, the results of our percolation tests, nitrate
loading calculations and subsequent conclusions are presented.
1.2 PROJECT UNDERSTANDING
We understand that there is an existing on-site septic/leach field system that provides sewage
disposal for the D Hill Trucking facility on the 3.94-acre parcel. No new installations or increases
in septic system usage are planned on the parcel; however, a new shop building is planned that
will replace the existing building that is used for this purpose. We understand there is an existing
well on the property that currently provides water for the facility. A recent aerial photograph
showing the parcel boundaries, the existing septic/leach field systems, and existing wells is
presented on Figure 2.
1.3 PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF SERVICES
The purpose of our services was to determine the suitability of the site for onsite wastewater
treatment system usage, estimate the nitrate load for the existing septic system and subsequently
develop conclusions to assist in project design, specification development, and construction.
