11 1
WORK PLAN
As shown on attached Boring Location Map, 12 geotechnical soil borings are proposed to the
depth of 40 feet from the surface. The test boring will be advanced with a truck-mounted drill
rig with 8 inches diameter auger. Boring will be advanced by using hollow stem augers. The
boring will be drilled and capped in accordance with cement slurry.
Selected samples will be obtained from 2.5-inch I.D. Modified California (MC) sampler and
1.4-inch I.D. Standard Penetration Test(SPT) sampler at various depths. The samplers will be
driven into.subsurface soils under the impact of a .140-pound hammer having a free fall of 30
inches to the depth of 18 inches or practical refusal. The blow counts required to drive the
sampler for every 6 inch will be recorded in field log. Pocket penetration tests will be
performed on clay samples to evaluate the consistency. The boring will be drilled under the
supervision of our engineer/geologist, who classified and continuous logged the soils
encountered during drilling and supervised the collection of soil samples at various depth for
visual examination and laboratory testing. The samples will be visually classified in the field
and then transported to our laboratory for further evaluation and testing.
