St. Joseph's
Medical Center
of Stockton
Operation of the FX Recycling System
The FX Recycling System woks on an electrolytic process. The
spent fixer is received and fed into the electrolytic section
of the FX Unit, where the silver-ions are removed. The control
for this process is maintained by a computer and is set up
specific to each customer, based on the quantity or fixer they
are using. After the electrolytic processing time is reached,
the recycled fixer is then sent to a holding tank. she recycled
fixer is replenished with between 208 - 30* fresh fixer. The
holding tank then replenishes the film processor with the
necRnRary fixer, as needed, for each film processed. The 20%
_ - 308, that is removed for the addition of fresh fixer, is
removed from site. The Quantity of the spent fixer being
transported off site must be recorded and those records kept
a minimum of thrRR yaars.
t
i
p G
L 5 - ♦Y +t v t N'v I b f' y
,..r ,,, , ,(. t1 ^r i`r'• at?w.,.,tx 4.1) E , ,..
• ... .5; 1. _..
