3 . 7 Troubleshooting Symptoms/Causes <br /> Symptom Typical Causes <br /> CAUSTIC FEED PROBLEMS <br /> Kari float switch 1 . Check electrical power from electrical <br /> in equal . tank B panel to 2-wap solenoid valve outlet . <br /> energizes one of 2 . If electrical power is not OK, check <br /> the self priming electrical wiring for discontinuity. <br /> centrifugal pump, 3 . If electrical power is OK, check the <br /> but caustic transfer 2-way solenoid valve . If necessary <br /> pump fails to operate replace valve. <br /> 4 . If 2-way solenoid valve operates OK, <br /> make sure shut-off air valve is, <br /> wide open. Check filter/regulator/ <br /> lubricator for unit air leaks and <br /> malfunctions . <br /> 5 . If air F/R/L unit is OK, replace <br /> caustic transfer pump. <br /> Caustic transfer pump 1 .Make sure all ball shut off valves <br /> operate , but no or low of caustic transfer circuits are wide <br /> caustic circulates . open. <br /> 2 . If caustic transfer circuit is free to <br /> circulate but there is no or low <br /> caustic circulating, replace caustic <br /> transfer pump. <br /> 0-4 pH in pH adj . tank 1 .Turn the caustic feed $1 pH adj . switch <br /> 1 , caustic transfer on the electrical panel to the "HAND" <br /> pump operates and position to energize 3-way solenoid <br /> circulates , but no valve. <br /> caustic feeding . 2 . If there is no caustic feeding, check <br /> 3-way solenoid valve. If solenoid <br /> valve is OK, check the caustic feed <br /> valve ( pink valve) and ball shut-off <br /> valve . Replace valves if necessary. <br /> 3 . If caustic is feeding, check <br /> electrical power from pH monitor 31 on <br /> electrical panel to 3-way solenoid <br /> valve . Rewire if necessary. <br /> 0-6 . 5 pH in pH adj . tank 1 .Turn caustic feed #2 pH adi . switch <br /> 2 , caustic transfer pump on the electrical panel to the "HAND" <br /> operates and circulates , position to energize 3-way sol . valve . <br /> but no caustic feeding . 2 . If there is no caustic feeding, check <br /> 3-way solenoid valve. If 3-way <br /> solenoid valve is OK, check the <br /> caustic feed valve ( pink valve) and <br /> ball shut-off valve.
