4 . 2 Maintenance Route Frequency: Weekly
- Inspect clarifier and sludge tank for
leaks and damages . Clean if necessary.
- Inspect pH probe for obstruction and
damages . Clean is necessary.
- Inspect ball shut-off valves , filter/
regulator/lubricator, 2-way solenoid
valves , and air diagram Wilden pumps
for leaks and damages .
4 . 3 Troubleshooting Symptoms/Causes
Symptoms Typical Causes
0-6 and 10-12 pH in 1 .Clean and test ph probe with pH
clarifier tank, calibration buffer 7 . If pH #3 monitor
alarm ON on the electrical panel is not reading
pH 7 , recalibrate pH #3 monitor.
2 . If pH #3 monitor on the electrical
panel is reading pH 7 , clean pH probes
and recalibrate the pH #1 and pH #2
monitor on the electrical panel .
3 .After recalibrating all three pH
monitors , and problem continues , check
the diverting valve for malfunction.
Sludge transfer pumps 1 .Make sure all shut-off valves ( located
operate , but no or at the bottom of clarifier tank) are
low liquid flow wide open.
2 . If the sludge is available at the
intake side , replace the sludge
transfer pump.
Timer energize 2-way 1 .Turn sludge switch in electrical panel
solenoid valve, but to the "HAND" position to energize the
sludge transfer pump 2-way solenoid valves .
fails to operate 2 . If the sludge transfer pump is
operating , check the electrical wiring
from the timer to the 2-way solenoid
valve outlet for discontinuity.
3 . If the sludge transfer pump is not
operating , check the electrical power
from the electrical panel to the 2-way
solenoid valve outlets .
A) If the electrical power at the
2-way solenoid valve outlet is OK,
check the 2-way solenoid valve and
F/R/L unit for malfunctions . If the
2-way solenoid valves and F/R/L
unit is OK. Replace the sludge
transfer pump.
21
