VII.Evacuation Plan <br /> A. Signal used to begin evacuation-pull down alarm and/or <br /> Public Address Svstem to announce evacuation. <br /> B.When personnel are instructed to evacuate the building,each <br /> individual is to follow the evacuation routes posted in each <br /> work area. Employees are not permitted to return to their work <br /> area until it is determined by management to be safe. <br /> C. Evacuation Routes-See map <br /> VIII.Responsibilities of Emergency Coordinators <br /> A.Activate alarm system or other internal notification device to initiate evacuation. <br /> B.Notify authorities: Police, Fire Department etc.This should be done within minutes of the emergency. <br /> C. Identify the type, source, amount, and degree of release of any materials.This includes materials which become a waste as a <br /> result of the incident,as by being spilled,discharged from a ruptured tank,processing chemical leaks,leaks of silver bearing <br /> solutions, etc.When necessary you are required to do a chemical analysis. <br /> D. Assess the potential hazards to human health or the environment. The assessment must include direct and indirect effects from <br /> fires,explosions and spills(i.e.toxic,irritation, and asphyxiating gases, surface water nmoff,etc.) <br /> E. If the emergency could cause a threat to human health or the environment outside the facility. <br /> 1. Notify the local authorities that evacuation of local areas may be necessary. <br /> 2. Notify the Local Emergency Planning Committee,report you'name and phone number,name and address of your <br /> facility,time and type of incident,name and quantity of materials involved, the extent of any injuries and possible <br /> hazards to health or the environment. <br /> F. During the emergency,the Incident Commander(IC),must take all reasonable steps necessary to assure that any other fires, <br /> explosions,or releases of hazardous substances do not occur or spread.These steps include halting production,removing or isolating <br /> all hazardous waste containers, and cleaning up any spills.The IC is also responsible for the removal of any bazardous waste that <br /> may need to be hauled away. If there are any questions, consult with QA Manager. <br /> G.The IC is obligated to monitor any other possible problems(i.e.pressure build up leaks, exploding gas cylinders, etc.)caused by <br /> the emergency. <br /> R Immediately following any emergency,you must provide for complete clean up measures as necessary including any treatment, <br /> storage, or disposal of recovered waste, contaminated soil,or waters.No incompatible wastes may be treated. If there are questions, <br /> consult with the QA Manager. <br /> I. Reporting Requirements: <br /> I. Following clean-up and before resuming production,you must notify the fire department that your facility is <br /> completely cleaned tip in accordance with your contingency plan and ready to resume operations. <br /> 2. As soon as practical. a written follow-up report is to be sent to the State Emergency Response Commission and to <br /> the Local Emergencv Planning Committee.
