5. Mark container with th&'jnoper CFR 49 markings. <br /> 6. Store container in a safe place, away from normal traffic. Arrangements will be made for proper disposal at the <br /> correct hazardous waste facility or proper treatment and disposal here. <br /> 7. Fill oil a spill incident report. A copy of this completed form should be given to human resources,the QA <br /> Manager, QC Supervisor and Plant Manager. <br /> 8. In case of a large spill of a hazardous substance, contact Richard Orr at Ext. 263. <br /> E.If a truck arrives with a leaking container,follow these instructions: <br /> 1. For non Kodak shipments of hazardous chemicals: <br /> a. Refuse the shipment and instruct them to get off the site unless doing so would further endanger the <br /> environment. <br /> b.Notify the EPT;start isolating area as needed and protect any drain in the area. Document the name of the driver <br /> and license plate number. <br /> c.The EPT will: <br /> -Ensure safety of all personnel and evacuate area as needed using bill of laden and MSDS as guides. <br /> -If driver refuses to leave the site or it's not prudent for him to leave, contact the shipper and let them <br /> know that their truck is involved in a spill. If they do not have a contract with a clean-up company then <br /> instruct them that we will call our contractor and bill them. <br /> -Call our spill contractor. Ramos Environmental Services 1-800456-7745 or 1-800-6464598 <br /> -Contain the spill using supplies from the spill cabinet. <br /> -Wait for the contractor. <br /> 2. For Kodak shipments of hazardous chemicals: <br /> a.Notify EPT,isolate area,and protect any drain in the area. <br /> b.The EPT will: <br /> -Evaluate the health hazard, check the MSDS.If the spill is beyond the scope of the EPT notify Eastman <br /> Kodak and notify our contractor. <br /> -If leakage is in the truck only,have driver position the truck so that it will drain into a barrel. <br /> -If leakage is noticed once cargo is in warehouse, contain the spill and protect the drain using articles in <br /> the spill cabinet. <br /> -Refer to Spill Control Plan and proceed with mediation of the spill. <br /> 3. For transporting chemicals between labs: <br /> a.Not advisable unless no other choice. <br /> b. Driver must have WA-126F training. <br /> c.Vehicle used must have a working fire extinguisher. <br /> d.Driver must be supplied with MSDS of the chemical and the MSDS must be kept with the driver and not the <br /> cargo. <br /> e. If carrying a mixed load make sure they are compatible. <br /> f.Amount transported must be legal amount not requiring placards. <br /> F.Training: <br /> Initial training sessions will be held annually only for key managerial personnel and employees directly working in a <br /> potential spill area to assure that facility personnel properly understand the procedures outlined in this Emergency Response <br /> Plan. <br /> Fmcgmcy Acton Plan 9 <br /> Last Update:November 1997 <br />
