D" = X-RAY COMPANY INC.
1r_Y_XL
1 . NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF UNIT
As the spent fixer arrives at our facility, it is poured directly
in to the hazardous waste container, which holds approximately
300 gallons of spent fixer (the tank is never filled to
capacity) .
The spent fixer is recycled through an FX Recycling System using
an electrolytic process. Four large cathode/anode cylindrical
units and through two (2) large resin bottles recycle the spent
fixer before going into a 300 gallon recycled holding tank.
The resin removes most of the discoloration due to developer
carry over in the fixer tank which occurs during normal x-ray
film processing. In addition to the above, the recycled fixer
solution is recycled through an additional FX Unit to remove
any additional silver ions in suspension.
After the spent fixer is recycling we add either fresh fixer
or an additive to the recycled fixer in order to maintain the
continuity of the recycled fixer solution and to replace oxidized
chemicals.
The recycled fixer is placed into 5 gallon D.O.T. carboys for
our customers. When a level is reached where we have more
recycled fixer than is needed by our customers it is manifested
and shipped via Drew Refinery, located in Berkeley, California.
Once the silver is collected on the cathode, it is removed,
manifested and shipped via Drew Refinery.
There is no discharge of spent fixer or recycled fixer into
our drainage system.
711 SAN JUAN AVENUE 11437 SUNRISE GOLD CIRCLE, STE D.
STOCKTON,CA 95203 RANCHO CORDOVA, CA 95742
(209) 465-3828 (916) 635-4960
X-Ray Equipment • Sales • Service • X-Ray Film • Supplies and Accessories • Complete Chemical Service, Processors and Manual
