This email response is to confirm that we look forward to receiving the test
results as you described in your email below.
Thank you,
Aris Cacapit, REHs
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
000 E.Main St.
Stockton,CA 95202
(209)400-3453 desk
(209)40&3433 fax
From: Melissa [mailto:Melissa@cdms.com]
Sent: Wednesday, September 30, 2009 9:20 AM
To: Aris Cacapit [EH]
Cc: Kasey Foley [EH]; Dennis Bour; Jim Carro
Subject: Fwd: RE: Thule Towing Systems
Hello Aris,
Just to be clear, our goal is to show,by analysis, that Thule Towing Systems is not generating a
hazardous waste water and therefore, is NOT required to obtain a tiered permit for treatment(pH
neutralization) before discharge.
As you remember, CDMS took samples of the waste water for analysis. If the results show that the
waste water is not hazardous, then a tiered permit is NOT required for treatment.
I have attached the laboratory report.
In an email on June 4,2009,I confirmed with the lab and answered you that YES,the analysis was
TTLC for total metals and the report shows that the results are below the TTLC and the STLC
(without even taking 10%of the TTLC result).
Your remaining question is why did we analyze for 6 metals instead of all 17 under CAM 17?
There may have been some rationale for choosing the 6 metals by generator knowledge but we
cannot document that at this point, so we intend to sample again.
We are going to take discreet samples of rinse tanks 2,4, 5, and 7,prior to treatment and analyze
those samples to see if they are hazardous waste.
May I have a conference call with you and your supervisor just to absolutely confirm exactly what
testing you require and that our approach is acceptable to you?
11/3/2009
