122 C v i <br /> . ano Support Over-Excavation on and Waste Management <br /> On April 1, 1999, under EHD observation, Fisch Environmental excavated approximately 100 <br /> cubic yards of sod from the vicinity of the former eastern canopy support structure and another <br /> 100 cubic yards from the vicinity of the former western canopy support structure Each of the <br /> excavations ultimately measured approximately 12 feet by 12 feet by 14 feet deep Once the <br /> excavation limits had been reached, Ramage Environmental collected two soil samples from each <br /> of the excavations <br /> On April 21, 1999, Ramage Environmental submitted to EHD, Soil and Soil Stockpile Sample <br /> Results, Canopy Support Over-Excavation The analytical results indicated that the sod beneath <br /> the east side of the former eastern canopy support had been impacted by aged gasoline Only <br /> one soil sample (E-E-14) contained gasoline compounds (3,400 mg/kg of TPH-as-gasoline and <br /> 400 mg/kg of xylenes) <br /> On June 7, 1999, the San Joaquin Valle Unified Air Pollution Control District approved the <br /> q Y PP <br /> uncontrolled aeration of the waste soil generated by the canopy support over-excavation <br /> On October 14, 1999, after approximately four months of aeration, Ramage Environmental re- <br /> sampled the aerated sod All five soil samples did not contain detectable concentrations of <br /> gasoline compounds <br /> On November 22, 1999, EHD approved the transfer of the remediated sod to the City of Manteca <br /> Police Confidence Course On December 3, 1999, Bob Evans Trucking loaded and transported <br /> the remediated soil to the Police Confidence Course in 64 loads, using ten-wheel trucks <br /> According to Bob Evans Trucking, each truck was loaded with approximately 8 cubic yards of sod, <br /> for a total sod volume of 512 cubic yards transported On January 14, 2000, Ramage <br /> Environmental documented the disposition of the remediated soil stockpile <br /> 1 2 3 Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation <br /> On November 16, 1999, Ramage Environmental published Preliminary Investigation and <br /> Evaluation Report, which documented the drilling of 11 on-site Geoprobe® soil borings (Figure 2), <br /> and the completion of a preliminary water well survey for the site vicinity MTBE was detected in <br /> 10 of the 11 sod borings <br /> 5 <br />
