Environmental Health Department <br />Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report <br />Date: <br />March 18, 2019 <br /> Facility Address: <br /> 1880 N MACARTHUR BLVD, TRACY <br /> Facility Name: <br /> SURTEC INC <br />SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br />(CLASS I, CLASS II, or MINOR - Notice to Comply) <br />RemarksItem # <br /> 102 CCR 66262.11 Failed to determine if a waste is a hazardous waste. <br />In the flammable storage room there were numerous containers of various epoxies, paints, sealants and other <br />chemicals that were drying in containers up to five gallons in size without lids on. There was also a tote with the top <br />cut out in the manufacturing area that was used for drying. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if <br />the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately make a hazardous waste determination for any waste chemicals <br />before they are dried and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and <br />supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. <br />This is a minor violation. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br />Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste <br />stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. These containers were identified as hazardous <br />waste and did not have an accumulation start date: <br />-12 black metal 5 gallon buckets on a pallet in the flammable storage room. Some were labeled as "rinse" and "bad <br />rinse" <br />-A shrink wrapped pallet (up to 18 containers) of black five gallon metal buckets observed in the flammable storage <br />room <br />-Two black metal 55 gallon drums observed in the flammable storage room <br />Since it cannot be determined how long the hazardous waste has been on site, immediately contact a licensed <br />hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest. Submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD within 30 <br />days. <br />This is a Class II violation. <br /> 605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or portable tanks of hazardous waste. <br />-12 black metal 5 gallon buckets on a pallet in the flammable storage room were observed without hazardous waste <br />labels.
